Miguel

migueltruck

Miguel is our veterinary technician. He joins the doctors on the road and has many duties. Such as, animal restraint and handling, surgical assistant, documenting medical records, filling prescriptions, and billing.

He has been with Mobile Vet since 1995 working mostly part time while he attended Cal Poly Pomona where he attained a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science: Pre-Vet option. Miguel applies his technical knowledge and skills gained in college, which is a great benefit to our practice. We are lucky to have him on our team, for he has two more years of college education than the average veterinary technician.

Over the years working at Mobile Vet, he has become quite adept at handling almost all species of animals from dogs and cats, to large exotics such as cougars, lions/tigers, and elephants. He attributes this knowledge to the expertise of Dr. Chris Cauble as well as the hands on experience he has had while working at Mobile Vet.

Miguel is also our reptile expert having kept various snakes, lizards, turtles/tortoises for over 16 years. While in his teens he was a very active member of the South Western Herpetologists Society helping out in the education committee. During that time he also had the opportunity to help out the Reptile and Amphibian Rescue Network (R.A.R.N.) as a volunteer.

Most recently, while attending Cal Poly Pomona he had the opportunity to teach a couple of laboratory classes in the restraint and handling of reptiles to fellow undergraduate students. His specialty is bearded dragons, which he has kept and bred for several years, having raised hundreds over that time. He currently has many bearded dragons as well as a small collection of various snakes that he comes home to after a long days work.
