Miniature
pincers, dobermans, and dachshunds are prone to aberant spots of white
that contrast to their normally dark fur. These spots usually show up
as the dog's age, and are not associated with other abnomal
dermatological signs. If your dog is itchy, or has dry, flaky skin, or
any other skin problems, then an examination with skin tests may be
necessary. Some forms of liver disease can also cause aberant colors in
the skin and fur. However, milk spots as described are usually
permanent color changes, and are not pathological.
